VakıfBank was founded in Turkey in 1954 in order to rally the resources of foundations in the best way towards development. Ever since that day, VakıfBank has been contributing to the development of Turkey’s savings level by making use of contemporary banking methods and applications. In light of its vision to be “The Leading Bank of a Strong Turkey” and the power it takes from its “foundation culture”, VakıfBank acts with the mission of constantly increasing the value it adds to its customers, employees, shareholders and society by effectively and efficiently managing the assets and values entrusted to it. Apart from corporate, commercial, SME and agricultural banking, VakıfBank also provides contemporary banking products and services in the fields of personal and private banking and is one of Turkey’s leading banks, not specifically in one but with expertise in all financial fields. VakıfBank has begun to expand in the international arena with the vision of becoming “The Most Preferred Turkish Bank Abroad.” In this respect, following the branches set up in New York and Bahrain, Erbil branch was founded in 2011 to give personal and commercial banking services. The services provided by the VakıfBank Erbil Branch are for Iraqi citizens and foreign nationals in Iraq with a residence permit.
